SOCIETY BUILDING UPDATE!
Yes, we are going to meet at the Society building for the first time! The painting is completed, the ceiling tiles are in, the heating and cooling system is connected, the lights are bright and the stool is in place. HOWEVER, the water is not hooked up at this time, so don't drink lots of fluids prior to coming to the meeting! The county has placed a culvert for the south drive entrance, but we still have lots of work to do on the full driveway and yard. Kevin Rackers from Rackers Excavating will be doing the initial work on the yard and drive. The weather has not been too cooperative in regard to working these particular areas! When the weather does settle down, we'll once again need volunteers to help with the planting of grass, trees and shrubs. Thelma McKim has donated a huge grindstone that we will place in the middle of the yard.
By the time of our meeting, we hope to have the stain and sealer on the floor and the baseboard on the walls. We are going to get the cherry wood sometime this week to complete the windowsills and trim, and the doors will then be stained to match. Even if we don't have all this completed, the building is certainly ready for our first meeting!
IT IS DIFFICULT AND ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO ADEQUATELY EXPRESS THANKS AND GREAT APPRECIATION TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS WORKING AT THE SOCIETY'S BUILDING. THE DEDICATION AND LOVE BY THESE MEMBERS ARE UNMATCHED. FROM SWEEPING TO HAMMERING TO HANGING TO MEASURING TO BOSSING (WHO COULD THAT BE??!!) TO CONTRIBUTING MONEY, THIS PROJECT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN COMPLETED WITHOUT YOU!
